Temple of Aeolus

Temple of AeolusThis Grade II listed building overlooking the Palm House Pond and Woodland Garden was constructed to a design of Sir William Chambers between 1760 and 1763. It was reconstructed by Decimus Burton in 1845 on an artificial mound, known as Cumberland Mount. It once contained a large semi-circular niche serving as a seat which revolved on a pivot.
