About 1000 specimens in the Collection are available as high quality digital images; others can be photographed on request for research or publication.

Photography costs and reproduction fees are charged according to the desired use and circulation. We seek to work with researchers and publishers (in whatever format) to disseminate our images to the widest possible audience, while ensuring that the highly labour-intensive work of photography is adequately funded.
Publication photographs are always supplied by Kew's own photography service. Individual researchers may, if wished, take their own photographs for research purpose (but not publication).
