Partnerships & Funding
Partnerships
To develop this work
we collaborate with partners that are amongst the largest herbaria
in the region, such as the Centro de Pesquisas do Cacau (CEPEC),
the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana (HUEFS) and the Instituto
Pernambucano de Pesquisas Agropecuárias (IPA). Such institutes have
a high concentration of one of our direct user-groups, plant taxonomists,
who provide us with fundamental feedback on the quality and usefulness
of the information and images repatriated.
This project is part
of the Biodiversity Subprogramme of the Plantas of Nordeste Project
(PNE), a bilateral collaboration between RBG Kew and the Associação
Plantas do Nordeste - APNE, supported by the Brazilian
and UK governments, among other partners.
Funding
The Northeastern Brazil
Repatriation of Herbarium Data is a three year project funded by
BAT (British
American Tobacco), in continuation of an initial pilot
project, which was funded by the UK government's Darwin Initiative.
