Mediterranean Summer

26 May to 9 September 2007

Lavender King Williams Temple Olives

Kew's 2007 summer festival will be a feast for the senses, with the colours, smells and tastes of the Mediterranean brought to the Gardens. The focus of the festival will be the newly restored Mediterranean Garden celebrating the wide variety of plants that survive in the arid conditions of Southern Europe and North Africa.

•  Beach constructed near the Pavilion Restaurant
•  Pizza Garden - including everything you would expect to find on a pizza.
•  Lavender walk behind the Palm House
•  Recreated olive grove in the Princess of Wales Conservatory
•  Restored Mediterranean Garden around the beautiful King Williams Temple
•  New area landscaped as natural Mediterranean habitat
•  Colourful chilli display in the Waterlilly House
