Brunei

The Brunei flora is exceptionally rich, currently estimated as having one third of all the lowland species found in Borneo although the area of the country is less than 1% for that of Borneo as a whole.

The Checklist aims to catalogue all the vascular plants found growing in Brunei. To date 15000 plant specimens have been examined belonging to about 3500 species. The information from these collections is stored on a database which will provide a powerful tool for the future conservation and management of Brunei's extraordinary biodiversity.
