Welcome to the latest edition of Botanic Gardens Micropropagation News. This issue is published by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in association with Botanic Gardens Conservation International. Due to changes in responsibility this will be my last issue of Botanic Gardens Micropropagation News as the Editor. My colleague, Margaret Ramsay will be taking over as Editor with effect from Vol. 2 Part 3 and I wish her every success in this role.

Due to staff reorganisation at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Margaret Ramsay has replaced Michael Fay as Head of the Micropropagation Unit while Michael is now head of a new conservation genetics programme based in the Kew Jodrell Laboratory.
This will also be the last issue of Botanic Gardens Micropropagation News edited by Peter Atkinson who is leaving Kew to in September to study for a Masters Degree.
