Systematic anatomy of monocotyledons

In the Anatomy of the Monocotyledons book series, volume VIII has just been published, on vegetative anatomy in Iridaceae (available from our bookshop).

The next two volumes will be on Liliaceae sensu lato and Orchidaceae. Recent new monocot classifications and analyses, much of them from work done at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, have resulted in considerable taxonomic re-organisation of the broad lily group. Apart from the standard systematic descriptions in the book series, we are concerned with improving the data set for critical characters, and establishing homologies for important systematic characters in monocotyledons, both vegetative and floral.
