Kew staff currently supervise a number of Ph.D. candidates, and contribute to Kew Diploma courses, M.Sc. courses at Reading and Birmingham, CITES workshops, and courses in botanical gardens management and conservation techniques.
Kew Diploma Students have three month work placements in the Orchid Unit,
Science Support Unit and Micropropagation Unit/Sainsbury Orchid Conservation
Project.

The Orchid Micropropagation Techniques Course was run in Mexico in 1997 in association with the Latin American Association of Botanic Gardens.
Training in horticulture and micro-propagation techniques can be provided to researchers, technicians, interns, and international students.
